Previously employed as an ecologist with Butterfly Conservation, concentrating on creating monitoring methodologies and researching the ecology of rare moth and butterfly species in Northern England.

 

Delivered over 20 courses on topics such as biological recording, bumblebee identification, solitary bee identification, and bryophyte identification, both online and in-person.

 

Currently act as the enquiries secretary for the Bees, Wasps, and Ants Recording Society.

 

Worked as an ecologist at Cumbria Wildlife Trust overseeing the restoration of 54 sites to enhance pollinator habitats.

 

Authored a publication that showcases significant yet often overlooked habitats and species in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Northamptonshire.

 

Conducted a survey of saproxylic beetles at Blenheim Palace, highlighting the site's international importance for these species.

 

More than 10 years of volunteer experience as a committee member for the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland.
